Book clubs have always been one of my favorite activities as an author. It’s different than signings, readings, or speaking engagements because attendees usually have read the book and come loaded with the thoughts and reactions that I, as an author, crave.
The horror genre has always reflected current fears in society. Horror is how we explore and face them. It is our playground where we exercise the worst what ifs. Post-pandemic, mid global political turmoil, fully in climate collapse, what are we scared of?
Last month, I taught my very first writing workshop. I’ve publicly spoken as an author before, talked at high schools about craft and publication, been featured on panels at conventions. Yet Novis Mortem Collective offered me my first opportunity to actually teach writing.
